Susan McDuffie’s Georgia-based company had its origins in 1985 with a gift to her daughter, a teddy bear made from a flea market quilt. Having just left a career in arts management at Atlanta’s Woodruff Arts Center for a home in the country, there were few options for artful and creative work. But word of her talent with a needle and thread soon spread. Little did she know that this simple gift to her daughter would lead down a path that fulfilled a lifetime love of fabrics and fashion.
Entering the wholesale market in 1987, she proffered her designs to gift shops, garden centers, gourmet food stores, boutiques, florists, caterers and saddlerys. Along that same path she found her designs featured in Country Living Magazine, Victoria, and Country Living Gardener.
After years working exclusively with vintage textiles, she added to the mix home textiles for their durability and great design. After all, why should the draperies have all the fun?
In addition to her own creations, she now also offers those of other select vendors that complement her styles, plus vintage treasures found here and there along the way.
Susan McDuffie’s designs are proudly made in the state of Georgia where she lives and works on a 140-year-old family ‘farmette’ with husband Jay and dog Chocolate Chip.
